FAKING  HISTORY TO MAKE RELIGIOUS WAR

The Europeans, and as a matter of fact,  the majority of the members of the UN also,  feel it is in their national interest to stay on the side of the more numerous Muslims. They will take humanitarian arguments in support. They need to be educated on the "root cause" of it al: the insidious persuasive power of Qur’an 5:82 to animate Muslim hatred of Jews. 

The Arab Muslims have at least a century old history of aggression against the Jews. They invented a false history of a "Palestinian" war against Israel in which thousands of years of Jewish history is blotted out, and thousands of years of "Palestinian" history have been invented.  I would say that Israel created the Palestinian Authority in 1994; and  in 2000-01 it turned the historical clock back by offering the Palestinians a state that they—again—rejected; also in 2008; that meanwhile in 2005 Israel withdrew totally from Gaza, leaving billions worth assets, withdrawing a huge population of Jews from their homes and hearths...The Europeans who have an acknowledged disdain for objectivity and truth,  are now worried about the "intolerable levels of human suffering" in the same Gaza which Israel handed over to Arab Muslims (who named themselves "Palestinians") under pressure from the US, EU and UN. Ariel Sharon removes all Jews from Gaza and cedes Gaza to PLO. Gazan Arabs plunder and destroy the prosperous, profitable agricultural enterprises created in Gaza by expelled Hebrews...

In 2007, HAMAS overtook Gaza, murdered some PLO officials and expelled the rest of them. From that moment on, HAMAS methodically converts Gaza into military industrial zone with majority of military factories and infrastructure underground, mostly under the residential, school, medical and cultural buildings. They relentlessly tormented Jews in the neighborhood with blood attacks, kidnappings, rapes and every kind of inhuman behavior reserved for Jews! October 7, 2003 was the largest and a particularly vicious one leading to the present war.

So the Europeans want Israel not to be "disproportionately" violent in their reaction to the cruelty of a terrorist organization which in their published Charter declares its intention to annihilate Jews? If a warring side may fight in pursuit of an aim up to some proportionality-respecting limit, then an important question is whether that side is morally required to stop fighting when it reaches that limit, despite not yet having attained its aim. Hamas is unwilling to accept that the 'Palestinians' could live peacefully along side Jews in Israel. Their slogan is "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free!" That is destruction of the Jewish Nation at it exists.

And Israel's legitimate interest that it must have secure borders from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea. To achieve that limited aim, the attackers have to be vanquished at the earliest. Use of disproportionate power is an essential element in any war strategy!

THE UKRAINE WAR

I do agree with a widely-held view that the United States and its NATO allies played a crucial role in the events that led to the Ukraine war—and are now playing a central role in the conduct of that war too. But I refuse to buy the argument that United States pushed forward policies toward Ukraine that Putin and his colleagues saw as an existential threat to their country—a point they have made repeatedly for many years. Talking about about America’s obsession with bringing Ukraine into NATO and making it a Western bulwark on Russia’s border, I would that is an imaginary burden on the mind of Putin of the KGB! The world has moved far away from such a scenario of the Cold War years! 

NATO exists not because of any security threat, but because the US pays for its keep. Though Biden administration recommitted itself to bringing Ukraine into NATO in 2021, it was not a big enough reason for Putin to invade Ukraine on February 24th, 2022., much like a regional bully! Russia is a huge power compared to Ukraine which doesn’t even have any nuclear arms to use as any serious deterrent in times of annexation of its land! Putin knows that his nuclear arsenal and delivery mechanisms are too real and fierce for the NATO go for an all-out war! Natural bullies have a great advantage when they also happen to be nuclear powers! 

Ukraine, for all its bravery and nationalism is squeezed between a rock and head place right now! Like the rest of the world, I too believe that Putin will unilaterally end the war after conquering a large swath of territory in eastern and southern Ukraine, as if only to make a point!

Given Putin’s purported goals, it makes perfect sense for Finland and Sweden to join NATO and for the alliance to increase its force levels in Eastern Europe. After all, Imperial Russia must be contained! 

I have read somewhere Putin calling the collapse of the Soviet Union “the greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the century” and adding, notably that Whoever does not miss the Soviet Union has no heart. Whoever wants it back has no brain.” 
I always liked the guy and had even personally messages on X addressing him “Brother Putin”!
